About U-In

U-In is a golf event registration and live scoring web app at u-in.net, operated by Scott Jones (Sole Proprietor). Event organizers create golf events, and golfers register for them on a U-In web page. Text messages are optional: golfers who opt in get texts about their events, and everyone else uses email or the web app.

Program Name and Messages

Program name: U-In Golf Event Notifications. Messages are transactional and only about golf events you take part in. U-In does not send marketing or promotional texts.

How to Opt In (Optional)

Your event organizer shares the event's U-In registration link with you by email or in person. U-In never texts a registration link to anyone, and never texts a number that has not opted in.
On the registration page you enter your name and, if you want, your mobile number. Directly under the mobile number field is a separate checkbox, unchecked by default, with this exact text:
Text me about this and future U-In golf events (optional). By checking this box, I agree to receive recurring automated text messages from U-In (operated by Scott Jones) at the mobile number above: event invitations, RSVP confirmations, and scoring links. Msg frequency varies, about 2-3 msgs per event. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not required to register or play. The checkbox is optional. You can register for and play in any event without checking it. You just won't get texts; your scoring link comes by email or from your organizer instead.
If you check the box, U-In records your opt-in with a timestamp and sends one confirmation text. After that you only get the messages listed above.
If you opted out earlier, you can opt back in by texting START to the U-In number.

Opt-in confirmation (sent once, right after you check the box)

U-In: You're signed up for golf event texts (invites, RSVPs, scoring links). Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Event invitation

U-In: Hey Mike! You're invited to Member Guest Tournament on Fri, Jun 6 at Riverside CC. Reply YES to confirm or NO to decline. Reply STOP to opt out.

RSVP confirmation

U-In: You're confirmed for Saturday Scramble at Pine Hills Golf Club, Mike! See you on the course. Reply STOP to opt out.

Scoring link when your round starts

U-In: Hey Mike! Saturday Scramble is teeing off now. Enter your scores here: https://u-in.net/event/42/score?ep=abc123 Reply STOP to opt out.

Message Frequency and Cost

Message frequency varies. You will typically receive 2–3 messages per golf event you take part in. Message and data rates may apply. U-In does not charge for texts.

How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any U-In text at any time (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, and OPTOUT also work). You will get one final confirmation and no further texts:

U-In: You're unsubscribed and will receive no more texts from us. Reply START to resubscribe.

Carriers

Carriers (including T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
